01.30.10 (4th quarter '09)

The fourth quarter of 2009 was fantastic here at Euphonic - a superb ending to a great year! Brad was chosen to master the new Vicky Beeching album for Integrity Records. This record was produced by Jonathan Macintosh and mixed by the amazing Sam Gibson - check it out! Jonathan also had Euphonic master Sarah Macintosh's new Christmas album, which was a real treat to work on! SkiddCo Music has kept Euphonic busy as well, sending over Saving Abel's first single off the upcoming follow-up to their hit debut record on Virgin Records, produced, engineered and mixed by Skidd Mills. SkiddCo also had Brad master the new Tetanus album, which was recently signed to Bieler Brothers Records. This album was also produced, engineered, and mixed by Skidd Mills (what can we say, he's awesome).

Legendary producer Jim Gaines chose Brad to master the new Lance Lopez album for Joybringer, this album is amazing - a fresh combination of rock and blues that's truly a joy to listen to. Ouachita, a new band from Austin, sent Euphonic their new album for mastering, magnificently mixed to 1/2" analog tape at Pedernales Studios. As is typical in the fourth quarter, we did quite a few Christmas records this year, like the Sarah Macintosh album listed above. Another Christmas record we cut was for J.D. Webb - this one is pretty amazing as J.D. has an incredible voice. Super-producer Craig King and engineer Matt Tudor had Brad master a new EP and singles for B.Angie.B - this stuff is really hot, definitely worth the listen! Dave Martin of Java Jive Studios chose Euphonic to master the new Carolyn Martin album, titled 'Cookin With Carolyn' - this record is a wonderful example of what can be done with amazing players and great engineering - Dave's mixes were so good Brad said "I just tried to stay out of the way".

We're really proud of the European connection we've developed over the years and this quarter was the perfect example of it! Starting with Shane Shu's new album on V2 Records, superbly mixed by Ujang Sastramidjaja (as usual, as Ujang is amazing!). Engineer Iain Hutchison sent Brad Iain Morrison's latest effort, titled 'Trust The Sea To Guide Me', released on Coda Music as well as Eoghan Colgan's latest release, which will also serve as the soundtrack for the film Love / Loss. Eoghan's music is truly amazing - do yourself a favor and check him out! Peter Crosbie continues to funnel his beautiful mixes to Brad, including new singles from Mint and Stephanie Crayencour. Peter also sent the new Claudine Muno and The Luna Boots album on Green l.f.ant Records and the new Marble Sounds record on Zealrecords - both are really nice records to listen to top to bottom, somewhat of a rarity nowadays. Euphonic was also chosen to master the new Helin-Mari Arder album, produced and engineered by Johannes Lohmus and the uber-talented Audun Borrmann sent the new Marte Wulf single, titled 'Opptakt'. What a great track!

For those keeping track, we've updated the Euphonic Masters: Gear page with some new pics. Meanwhile, even though we still receive compliments about our website design after seven years of going relatively unchanged, we've hired MMEdia, the original creators of euphonicmasters.com to update the site. We're hoping to roll out the updated site soon, so keep checking back!

10.20.2009 (3rd quarter '09)

Fall weather is here and it's time for another news update regarding what's been happening at Euphonic Masters! Interscope Records' Black Eyed Peas once again hired Brad to master a new single / EP release, this time for the 'Invasion of I Gotta Feeling EP' (iTunes store link here) - if you love the BEP you'll want to add this one to your collection! Universal Music R&B star Jully Black once again sent her new album, titled 'Black Book', to Euphonic for mastering.. This album was produced by Young Pete and mixed by the amazing Phil Tan. The first single, 'Running' is already charting, check it out!

Lucero drummer Roy Berry had Brad master his new solo release, titled overjoid released on East West Record / Liberty & Lament . Super-rockers Deepfield released a limited edition EP on Skiddco Music as a preview to their much-anticipated follow-up album to 'Archetypes and Repetition' (also mastered at Euphonic). It was produced/engineered/mixed by Skidd Mills - check this one out before they're all gone! Charleston SC's own The Plainfield Project sent their self-titled debut album to Euphonic to put the finishing touches on it. This album is great, tracked and mixed by Charleston Sound's own Jeff Hodges.

We've had quite a few international acts utilize Euphonic's FTP servers in order to work with Brad: Oslo's Siri Nilsen had Euphonic master her new release on Grappa Records, while Ujang Sastramidjaja had Brad polish the Netherlands own Beans & Fatback record, as did Belgian indie artists Busty Duck.

It's also been a busy time for singles - Norwegian rockers Saivu chose Brad to master their first single from their upcoming album, mixed by uber-mixer Ben Grosse. They hope to finish up the full length soon, so keep an eye out for these guys! Ronald Martinez asked Brad put the finishing touches on his newest single 'Como Quisiera', which was mixed by Charles Dye. Primary Wave rockers Taddy Porter sent their new single, titled 'Shake Me' (iTunes store link here) in for a bit of final polish. This awesome track was produced / mixed by Skidd Mills and tracked by his engineer, J.Hall. Last but not least, producer Craig King had Brad master the new B Angle B tracks for her upcoming EP, mixed by Matt Troja. Of course, many more projects came to Euphonic during this time, but this is all we have time for right now...

On a parting note, Brad was pleased to receive RIAA sales awards of Saving Abel's self-titled debut album (gold) and first single, 'Addicted' (platinum), released on Virgin Records. Congratulations to Saving Abel for their success - we're proud that Euphonic was chosen to be a part of the team.

What an amazing spring/summer it's been so far here at Euphonic Masters! Brad was asked to master the DJ Ammo remix of the new Black Eyed Peas hit single 'Boom Boom Pow' (iTunes store link here) for Interscope Records - this remix is insane! Euphonic was also chosen to master Alison Krauss's new greatest hits collection, titled 'Essential', for Rounder Records. It was decided that we should work off the original source tapes and remaster the collection from the ground up in order to allow every track to sound as good as it can - the results were worth it!

Virgin Records artists Saving Abel dropped off their new acoustic EP to be mastered - this one is awesome! Produced, engineered and mixed by uber-talent Skidd Mills, it contains some of their most beloved tracks, such as 'Addicted' and 'Drowning Face Down' as well as a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain'. Ardent Music is back as a record label! The first release is Jump Back Jake's "Brooklyn Hustle / Memphis Muscle", produced, engineered and mixed by the extraordinary Pete Matthews. Congratulations to Ardent, Jump Back Jake, and Pete for such an historic release! Long time friends and clients Sister Hazel chose Brad to master their new studio album, titled 'Release'. This one is due in stores on August 18th, be sure to check it out!

Brilliant singer / songwriter John Hampson had Euphonic master his new solo album, titled 'Shiny New Album' featuring the new single 'How Much' - this album is chock-full of great songs and performances - highly recommended. Hit pop / rock duo Aranda has Brad master their new single 'Why You Wanna Bring Me Down' which was chosen for use as the theme song for the WWE Bash - congrats to Aranda!

Jazz sax great Jeff Kashiwa had Euphonic master his new greatest hits album, released on Native Language. This is a great retrospective collection of Jeff's work, definitely worth giving a listen! Brad was once again brought on board to master a new Cherry Poppin' Daddies album, 'The Skankin' Hits of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies' the long-awaited collection of their Ska material. Definitely worth checking out!

Jd Webb sent his upcoming album and EP (as well as his first single) to Euphonic for the final polish. The songs were superbly mixed by Claudio Cueni. Brad was also chosen to put the final polish on the new studio album by The Clarks, titled 'Restless Days' which was recorded and mixed by Sean McDonald at Sofa King Music Services. The album has been well-received, climbing the Billboard Top 200 as well as debuting at #7 on the Billboard Top Internet Albums chart - congratulations to The Clarks and Sean for the effort! Every once in a while a band comes along that rocks you to your foundation - I had that pleasure recently while working with such a band - The Missionary Position - who offer an intoxicating blend of great songs, inspiring performances and rich sonic textures. You need to check these guys out, truly a special group.

Of course, this is just a small sample of the projects we've worked on in the last few months - there's no way we could fit it all here!

We are finally putting the finishing aesthetic touches on the studio, so I snapped some (long awaited) pictures to share with you. Not all the trim work is complete - once it is we'll be posting some professionally taken pictures, but these will give you a good idea of what the mastering room looks like:

03.30.2009 (long overdue update)

Wow, it's been way too long since we've done an update here. With apologies, we've been extremely busy, but I hope we can make updates more often so you can see some of the exciting projects we've been blessed to work with...

Virgin Records artists Saving Abel had Brad master their self-titled debut album, which has since been certified Gold (so far). The first single, 'Addicted', was a #1 hit, and has been certified Platinum. The second and third singles, '18 Days' and 'Drowning (Face Down)' are currently burning up the charts as well. The album was produced, engineered and mixed by Skidd Mills - congrats to all involved for the success!

Canadian R&B star Jully Black had Euphonic Masters put the finishing touches on her latest effort for Universal Records, titled 'Revival'. The album, produced by Black Eyed Peas drummer Keith Harris and mixed by uber-engineer Dylan '3d' Dresdow, has been a great success, being certified Gold and featuring four hit singles, 'Seven Day Fool', 'DJ PLay My Song', 'Until I Stay', and 'Queen'. In addition, 'Revival' was awarded a Juno as the 2008: R&B/Soul Recording of the Year while 'Seven Day Fool' was nominated for the 2008: Single of the Year. Congrats Jully!

Green River Ordinance chose Brad to master the singles off their new Virgin Records project, titled 'Out Of My Hands'. these tracks were produced by Paul Ebersold - keep an ear out for these guys! Sister Hazel once again chose Euphonic to master their latest offering, Before The Amplifiers, the long-awaited live acoustic album featuring 21 tracks spread over two discs. Featuring a cross-sectin of their career thus far, it contains their hits and fan favorites including 'Champagne High', 'Happy', 'All For You', and 'World Inside My Head' among many more. Ben Kenney also sent his latest offering, titled 'Distance and Comfort', the third album Brad's been asked to master for Ben - it's always a pleasure working with musicians of his caliber!

Also, the North Mississippi Allstars had Brad put the finishing touches on their long-awaited retrospective project 'Do It Like We Used To Do'. This 2 CD/1 DVD package includes two discs of music that highlight the band’s live performances over their first twelve years together and a full-length documentary DVD on the history of the band. The documentary includes interviews with the Allstars as well as incredible live footage of the band and the influential musicians that helped mold them from the beginning. Lead singer Luther Dickinson says this retrospective release “represents survival for a regional art form and tradition that stubbornly preserves and evolves”. This is a must have for the NMA fan and we're very proud to have once again been chosen to work with these guys.

Obviously, there have been tons of other projects since our last update (337 projects, to be exact!), but time won't allow us to do more than talk about a few here right now. We hope to update this with greater regularity from here on out, but as busy as it is, we're not making any promises!

Finally, we've made some rather significant changes over the last year to the chain and the studio. We had our tech - the amazing Frank Lacy - build us a new, custom-designed mastering EQ based on a previously unreleased schematic by Barry Porter. This EQ (called the BPEQ2), in conjunction with the Davelizer and the Crane Song Ibis allow some of the smoothest equalization you'll ever hear. We also added the new Korg MR-2000S DSD recorder to allow playback of high-resolution DSD files (up to an astonishing 1-Bit/5.6448 MHz!). Even more significantly, we hired Belgium's Thomas Jouanjean of Northward Acoustics to upgrade the mastering room acoustics. I've worked in several studios over the years, but upon hearing Northward's upgraded acoustics in my mastering room I was blown away - truly jaw-dropping frequency response and imaging! My clients have also been blown away, many commenting that the room was the best sounding room they have ever heard. Thomas Jouanjean is a true pleasure to work with - the perfect combination of knowledge and experience that allows him to create the ideal work space. Thanks again, Tom.

It appears we've settled in to a quarterly update schedule. While this isn't as often as we like and forces us to leave out most of the projects we work on, it's currently the best pace we can keep up with - enjoy!

Legenedary indie rockers Thursday sent Brad the tracks for their new CD/DVD release "Kill the House Lights", released on Victory Records. This release is a collection of previously unreleased live and studio offerings sure to please the fans. Super mixer Mike Shipley had Brad put the final polish the new Planet of the Stereos album. This Sydney based band is releasing a great mix of pop and rock - be sure to check them out. Norwegian engineer Audun Borrmann has kept Brad busy, working on projects such as NavyElectre and JB & the Delta Jukes - it's a pleasure receiving mixes that are so balanced and organic!.

The North Mississippi Allstars had Brad master their new album, titled "Hernando" - it's their 'heaviest' offering yet, be sure to give it a listen! Producer/engineer Skidd Mills sent the new Saving Abel album and singles for their new Capitol Records release. This band's blend of catchy hooks and straight ahead rock has been turning heads for some time now. Brad was also chosen to master the new Cherry Poppin' Daddies album (titled "Susquehanna"), superbly mixed by Billy Barnett at Gung Ho Studio - it's a great mix of different styles show-casing the bands considerbale talents. Euphonic was also chosen to master the new Shane Shu album for V2 Records - this is one of most entertaining records we've ever heard - do yourself a favor and check it out!

Ok, we're doing better with the news updates - it's only been about two months this time. Anyway, we've been as busy as ever, working with some amazing artists; here's some quick hits...

Universal Records recording artist Jully Black sent her new album in to Brad for mastering. The album was mixed by Dylan "3-D" Dresdow and has some really stunning tracks. Dylan also sent Brad some new will.i.am tracks in for a final bit of polish, including the new single "I Got It From My Mama" - his new album is due to be released on A&M/Interscope in September. The prolific North Mississippi Allstars have kept Euphonic busy finishing up three different projects: a new acoustic album, a 10 year retrospective double album, and a double CD release of the stereo audio from their live DVD Brad mastered, "Keep On Marchin'".

Legendary producer Jim Dickinson chose to have his new album mastered at Euphonic, the third album we've done for him. Brad was also picked by producer/engineeer Chris Hobson to master the debut album from Thieves & Liars - this album is amazing from top to bottom. It was recorded at Sounden Recordings and delivered on 1/2" analog tape. Anthony Gomes sent Brad yet another album for polish, this one a live album recorded over the last year. Former Dust For Life singer/guitarist Chris Gavin brought in his latest project, called White Noise Theory - these tracks are really killer - great band. Brad was also called on to put the finishing touches on projects by , Say Hello to the Angels, Sahra Indio, Semper Fire, Norsk Kurveunion and many more.

It’s about time we updated this page! The last year-and-a-half have been a whirlwind with record month following record month, so we’ve literally scheduled this time to make sure the news gets updated. There’s no way we can cover all the stuff that’s happened over the last 18 months, so this will just be some highlights to get us caught up. We promise to make a better effort to keep this updated from here on out….

2007 has been amazing here at Euphonic so far, allowing us to work with such amazing artists as Fuel, Sister Hazel, the North Mississippi Allstars, Deepfield, the Shotgun Wedding Quintet, and many more. We also built a new mastering studio which sounds amazing!

Recent sessions include the brand new Fuel album “Angels & Devils” (to be released August 7th) on Sony/Epic. It was mixed by the uber-mixer Mike Shipley and the first single ‘Wasted Time’ has been serviced to radio. Sister Hazel had Brad put the finishing touch on two new records – a collection of previously unreleased material spanning their career called “Bam” and a new holiday album to be released later this year. Brad was also hired by long time clients (and friends) the North Mississippi Allstars to master the audio for their new live DVD “Keep On Marchin'”. San Francisco’s Shotgun Wedding Quintet sent their new album (superbly mixed by Dave Greenberg) to Euphonic for mastering – they marry hip-hop and jazz in an incredible way, and their new album is really stunning, keep an eye out for this one. The crew up at Big Blue Meenie has kept Brad busy as well, sending down tons of killer projects from bands such as Me Talk Pretty, Smokestar, Vie Perdu, Quitter, Water Under Water, the NOx Curve, Ecotone, Last Perfect Thing, Ground To Machine, Fakeknife, and Delmag. Those guys rock…

Again, there’s tons more not covered here, but just nowhere near the time to cover the projects we’ve done since the last update (over 400!)…

The new studio is completed except for the final wood trim, which we hope to get up in the next few weeks. It’s a good bit bigger than the old room and sounds AMAZING. We'll have pics posted as soon as it's finished. The gear and monitoring is essentially the same as it was, though I’ve added a new EQ, a copy of the old A&M Mastering EQ, the Davelizer. Whew, we're off to an amazing start this year - January was a banner month for Euphonic, starting off the new year with a bang by being chosen once again by Ben Kenney (bassist from Incubus) to master his second solo effort (titled 'Maduro') for Ghetto Crush. Producer Sal Villanueva and engineer Tim 'Rumblefish' Gilles sent Brad the new Folly album for polishing. The album, titled 'Resist Convenience', was tracked and mixed at Big Blue Meenie for Triple Crown Records. The Dirty Americans were back at Euphonic putting the finishing touches on their new EP. It was produced by Kenny Olson and mixed by Skidd Mills at 747Studios. Legendary producer and artist Jim Dickinson sent his latest Memphis International Records effort to Euphonic for final tweaking, and Bolivian artist Edwin Castellanos sent his new album of traditional Bolivian music to Brad as well. Zak Cohen of Woodshop Recording sent down Canadian native-american artist Art Napoleon's latest effort, which sounded great (as usual from Zak), and Dave Martin sent Brad the latest Cuppa Joe Records release, an album by Jeff Skorik.

We've been so busy over the last twelve months that we've let the news section slide. At this point, going back and writing news clips for every month is simply too time consuming, so we're going to give some highlights from 2005 (and December 2004)...

Congrats to FMR/Warner rockers Goodnight Nurse for the debut of their new album, titled 'Always and Never', which debuted at #5 on the NZ top 40, going gold it's first week! Warner Brothers has created a new imprint label called Liberty & Lament who signed the alt-rockers Lucero. Their latest album, 'Nobody's Darlings' is it's first release and was mastered by Brad, as was their live album that will be packaged with their new DVD, 'Bright Stars on Lonesome Nights Documentary', released on New Scratch Records. Cuneiform Records sent several records down this year for Brad to polish including the new Ahleuchatistas album which is amazing, as is the new Soft Machine DVD which was originally recorded three decades ago. Brad was also called upon to master the latest by Djam Karet for Cuneiform, titled 'Recollection Harvest'. Super-mixer Mike Shipley sent several albums to Euphonic, including Baumer's latest, the rocking debut from Head Rush, and the indie-electronica-rockers My Epiphany.

Rockin' producer Paul Ebersold brought a project in to Euphonic for final tweaking, this time an explosive new rock band called Revelation Theory . Mixed by Skidd Mills, this album is sure to get you moving. The long awaited debut album from The Secret Club titled 'The Sunday Suite' was brought to Brad by 'the j', j.hall of Theta Rhythm for final tweaking. The j also mixed and sent down the debut from album by The New Tragedies which is making waves in the midwest based on its unique brand of indie pop. Producer/engineer Ken Mary sent Brad the new Phunk Junkeez single and congratulations to Big Daddy Weave for the success of their latest Word release, 'What I Was Made For'. The album was superbly mixed by Shane Wilson.

Once again the Dirty Americans called on Brad to finish up their album for it's US release on Roadrunner Records titled 'Strange Generation'. This album was produced by Paul Ebersold and tracked/mixed by Skidd Mills. Producer Jason Cupp sent in the analog masters (we love those) for the new Valley Arena album, released by AstroMagnetics. Also on Astromagnetics, The Secret Lives Of The Freemasons debut album is a rocking good time, recorded at The Clubhouse (an awesome studio) as was the new Blackout Pact album.

Mixer Jeff Powell joined Alvin Youngblood Hart at Euphonic to put the finishing touches on Alvin's latest, 'Motivational Speaker'. Oteil Burbridge chose Brad to polish the new Oteil & the Peacemakers album titled 'Believer'. If you haven't had the chance to hear him play with the Allman Bros. or Aquarium Rescue Unit, you owe it to yourself to check this out. Swedish superstar Louise Hoffsten was back in Memphis cutting her latest album titled 'From Linköping To Memphis'. This release is on Memphis International Records, who also sent Brad Earl Thomas's latest 'Intersection', The Redstick Ramblers' 'Right Key, Wrong Keyhole', Philipp Fankhauser's latest album, 'Talk To Me', and the soundtrack from the motion picture Forty Shades of Blue.

Brad was also chosen to cut both an EP and a full length album for the Radiant Republic of Texas. Both were mixed by Greg Norman at Electrical Audio and were (beautifully) mixed to 1/2" analog. New tracks were sent to Euphonic for Michael Deiss's debut on Sony. Prog-rockers Man On Fire chose Brad to master their latest, 'Habitat' for ProgRock Records, featuring Adrian Belew and David Ragsdale while The Mob, featuring vocals by Doug Pinnick and mixed by Kip Winger (yep, same one) sent Brad their latest as well. Mem Shannon sent in his latest effort, mixed by Erik Fletterich, while Lystras Silence was sent in by Aaron Sternke. Aaron mixed the record at Ted Curtis's breathtaking Upstairs Productions. Craig Zarkos showed his amazing chops in recording and mixing Ripplegroove's latest record, which grooves forever...

ATO records artists North Mississippi Allstars were in mastering their latest effort, titled 'Electric Blue Watermelon' this month. Featuring guest appearances from John Mayer and Robert Randolph, this album is truly amazing - look for it in April 2005. Americana rockers Lucero had Brad put the finish on their latest single, while Mike Hohnholz sent in his latest effort, recorded and mixed by Craig Alvin at Upstairs Productions. CCM artist Clay Crosse had his latest mastered at Euphonic, and Forerunner Records sent in two albums, a killer pop album by Pablo Perez and a rocker from Marcus Meier. Costa Rican super mixer Alberto Ortiz chose Brad to master the new effort from Freddy Alvez and also sent in a great pop production from Los Bespas. Texas rockers The Vanished sent in their latest single while The Nancy School and Candlefuse sent in their latest albums for final tweaking.

This month, Keith Harris and Dylan "3D" Dresdow sent in the new Keith Gamble record for mastering. Keith Harris produced the album while Dylan Dresdow handled the engineering/mixing duties. In another banner month of international work, Johannes Eberhard tapped Brad to master the latest effort by Swiss band 'Standards of Rumantsch', while producer Peter Crosbie sent in the new single by Belgian pop act Lester. Multi-instrumentalist and amazing producer Seth Glassman sent in an EP he produced for Darlene Love, a stunning new vocal talent. An interestiong band, Aradhna, sent in their latest effort for some tweaking, this is the third album Brad has mastered for Aradhna. Microwave Dave sent in his new live solo effort, and Brad was kept busy working on projects for rockers SeekerOne and Shadow Reichenstein (these guys rock).

Japanese artists Machine and the Synergetic Nuts kicked off this month sending their new album in, courtesy of Cuneiform Records - it's a real mind-blower. Opera Star Kallen Esperian (who has an amazingly beautiful voice) mastered her new record at Euphonic this month and it's amazing. Nashville rockers Common Ground brought their 1/2" analog masters in for the new album, titled 'Service'. The album was recorded and mixed by Neil Martin at Lyquid Lava House of Muse on his new SSL. Congrats, Neil Craig Zarkos of proxy music in Oceanside, CA sent the new country album by Randy Burk to Brad for final polishing as did Sam Verrella, who mixed the new (rockin') Chumley's Toy album in Orlando. Eric Vincent sent in an EP by Chase for mastering and Jeff Chaz, The Bourbon Street Bluesman, sent in his new album as well. (Update) We are deeply saddened to hear that ARS owner producer/engineer Sam Verrella passed away in his sleep on 12/31/04. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed. RIP, Sam.

August saw the North Mississippi Allstars bring their new live album 'Hill Country Revue' (recorded at Bonaroo featuring Jim Dickinson, Chris Robinson, and RL Burnside) in for mastering. The album, skillfully mixed by Pete Matthews is an amazing display of great performers in their element. Cuneiform Records sent in two albums for some polishing, a great effort by Forever Einstein and a powerful album from Alec K Redfern & The Eyesores. Sister Hazel had Brad cut a double album for their annual music festival The Rock Boat featuring Ingram Hill, Dexter Freebish, & Cowboy Mouth among many more. Rappers Rated-R and White Boy sent in their latest radio singles, while singer/songwirters Graham Perry and Camille Miller sent in their latest album efforts for mastering. Brazilian artist Julio Figueroa sent his new album in as did CCM artist John Angotti. Finally, to end the month, Save the Radio, Monty McCune's solo effort, sent in his new EP - watch for this one, every track is aweseome...

Once again, Sister Hazel was back in Euphonic Masters this month, this time putting the finished touches on their new album, titled 'Lift'. This new effort was produced, engineered, and mixed by Skidd Mills at 747-Studios. Ben Kenney (bassist from Incubus) sent Brad his new solo effort on Ghetto Crush, which is very cool, keep an eye out for this one. J.P. Sheganoski has been very busy as Risus Productions, sending Brad three EP's to put the finishing touches on; The Breakout, Lost In Vex, and Full Surrender. J.P.'s neighbor, Jay Kahrs of Mad Moose Recording dropped in and brought two records for mastering off the custom Studer deck; Steep Creek and Lifeguards. Our friends at Big Blue Meenie sent down the new Green Machine album, and Brian Harper was in from Chicago mastering his new solo effort. Jay Hallstrom of Radio Poet Productions sent down the new Imago Dei album, also on analog tape, while Irish rockers The Real and Norwegian popsters MFOX sent in radio singles.

Sister Hazel sent Brad their new radio single, a cover of the Cars' classic 'Just What I Needed' this month in preparation for their upcoming album. Listen for it on your local AC/Hot AC station. Steve Selvidge (formerly of Big Ass Truck) and Dave Shouse (of the Grifters) brought in their new project, The Bloodthirsty Lovers, from French Kiss Records for the final polish, and it's very cool. J.P Sheganoski of Risus Productions sent brad the new Pallas Athena EP for mastering, while Chicago rockers Rome For A Day, Memphis jazz/rock/hiphop fusion group Free Sol, and Dallas rockers The Vanished all sent radio singles for mastering. Jimmy Hunter of Cazador Recording sent in an album by Niko Poulios, while Brad was also brought on to finish up albums by Costa Rican Javier Arias, Deep Shag, and Living Proof (mixed by Mike Kovach).

May brought yet another busy month. Cuneiform Records tapped Brad to master the latest Richard Leo Johnson Trio album as well as the new Yang record, both stunning records of amazing performances. Once again Mike Shipley sent Brad a new single to master for Bardic Records, this time on the European duo Werring. Equal Vision Records had Brad master the new full-length from Endicott, and Brad also mastered the new FPTOZ album, both from Big Blue Meenie. Orlando's Damaged Goodz sent up three more tracks as they work on assembly of the new full length and New York rockers Jimmy Vigilante sent down their new EP as well. Brad wrapped up this month by mastering the new Big Joe Duskin album for Yellow Dog Records.

This month, David Hodges (formerly of Evanescence) brought in Trading Yesterday's (his new band) first record for mastering, watch out for this one. Super-mixer Mike Shipley called on Brad to master the two latest singles from Jennifer Marks and Ben Arthur, artists on the new Bardic Records label. Jennifer's single "Live" is featured on the soundtrack 'The Terminal'. Brad was also called on to master Philip Fankhauser's latest effort for Memphis International records. Brian Fitzpatrick was in mastering his new record (another one courtesy of Big Blue Meenie) and Blind Pig Records sent Albert Cummings new album in for polishing. April also brought some heavy rockers in with albums and EPs mastered for the bands Blood Ties, Heaven&Hell, and Chronic Tendencies. Brad was brought in to master the new Now is Now album (mixed by Matt Hennessey). Brad also mastered EPls and singles by Drew Holcomb, Free Sol and Million, from Norway.

Memphis rockabilly favorites The Dempseys brought their new record to Euphonic this month. Stunning performances as usual, the fans will love this new record. Rockers We're All Broken sent in their latest effort for mastering, courtesy of our friends at Big Blue Meenie studios. Rock, hiphop, and jazz all came together on Free Sol's new album, recorded at Young Avenue Sound, here in the heart of rock and the home of the blues. Brad was also called upon to put the finishing touches on Ruben V's newest record, tracked and mixed by Matt Martone. Matt also brought Brad the new radio singles from Canadian rockers Rake. South American rockers Enrique Castillo and Enoch Samuels send Brad their latest efforts, fantastic productions as we've come to expect. March also brought us the installation of a new custom built mastering console designed by Collins Audio and Euphonic Masters. This console, the ATC-1, allows greater routing flexibility and control than our previous console that was custom built by Crane Song.

Roadrunner Records rockers Dirty Americans had Brad cut their new single 'Strange Generation' which includes an enhanced portion containing their new video - look for it on MTV. ATO recording artists North Mississippi Allstars sent their new EP to Euphonic for some polish as well. The EP was recorded and mixed by super engineer John Hampton. Alphajerk sent the Crank County Daredevils (self-proclaimed 'Kings of Sleaze') new album in, and Atomic Tangerine sent Brad their latest single for mastering. Vestige Records' Sean Chambers was in putting the finishing touches on his latest record, produced by Bud Snyder. Christian rockers Ephaphatha sent Brad their latest single and plan to return to finish up their new album sometime in April, and Southern Records sent the latest Watermelon Slim album in for some polish as well. Brad also cut two new singles for RnB artist Methrone as well as albums for Gina French, Doug Mattingly, Perspective, and Seven Dollar Socks before finishing out the month mastering 'The Golden Gate Escape' EP from The Radiant Republic of Texas, which was recorded and mixed in Chicago's Electrical Audio.

Happy New Year! January was another banner month at Euphonic, bringing exciting new artists from the US and abroad. Belgian sensation Mint sent their new album to Euphonic for the final polish. Brad also mastered the radio singles. Wisconsin based rockers The Groovehogs finished their second record with Brad. The record was Produced by the legendary Jim Gaines and recorded/mixed by Kevin Houston. Rock bands My Blue Pill and Pillbox (no relation) finished up EPs and singles at Euphonic, and Chicago based indie rocker Charlie Keel also had Brad master his new album, which was tracked at Chicago Recording Company and mixed by J.Hall of Nucleus Productions. The Hour Unknown brought their new album in for some tweaking and slipping in just at the end of the month, Pennsylvania rockers Stept-On sent Brad their new EP (which rocks, by the way) for mastering. Finally, Adrian James brought his 12 year, Pink-Floyd-like psychedelic album in for the finishing touches.

This month, Brad put the finishing touches on Sister Hazel's new double-live record (as well the radio singles), 'LiveLive', which was mixed by producer/mixer extraordinaire Skidd Mills. The Vanished (formerly Seven Channels) also finished up their new record at Euphonic Masters this month, releasing the follow up to 2001's 'Seven Channels'. Without End, a new metal group comprised of former members of Morbid Angel, Ripping Corpse, and Last Remains dropped by to finish up their new record, mixed at Big Blue Meenie. Brad also mastered the new Shady Deal record, produced by the legendary Jim Dickinson, Orlando based Damaged Goodz punkish EP, and cut a new single for Texas' own Tragic Komic. Austin-based Trash Rock Kings sent their album up (this record rocks) for some polish, as well as rockers Tipsy McStagger, pop idealist Alex Chu, and the folky Suckiels. Producer/engineer Chris Aiken took advantage of Euphonic's FTP server to submit the mixes for Polish artist Ferid's new radio single, and just before Christmas, Brad mastered the new album for Costa Rica's Kadeho, mixed by super-mixer Alberto Ortiz.

We can now master your surround project - Euphonic Masters recently purchased three more B&W Nautilus monitors and a Velodyne subwoofer to complete the surround monitoring system. Sister Hazel brought their new DVD ('Live*Live') in for surround mastering (5.1). Brad also mastered the soundtrack from Moby's 'Alien Sex Party', as well and a new EP from sensational singer Lauren Gifford. Brad's Costa Rican friends also helped keep him busy with Sintagma's new record as well as a new EP from Akasha, both mixed by the amazing Alberto Ortiz. Continuing to extend his international client list, Brad also mastered the newest album for Norwegian artist Kirsten Wollan. Legendary producer Jim Dickinson brought the North Mississippi Allstars' fourth record in for mastering, entitled 'Tate County - Hill Country Blues'. San Diego based This Holiday Life mastered their new record, mixed by Pete Stewart, at Euphonic, as did Orlando based Atomic Tangerine (watch out for these guys). Brad also put the finishing touches on Mour's new record, as well as radio singles for Cody Smith.

While attending the AES convention in NYC, Brad met up with producer/engineer extraordinaire Dave McNair who passed him the masters to Nine Days latest effort, entitled 'Flying The Corporate Jet'. Rockers Dust For Life stopped by to cut their new EP, which was tracked and mixed by Pete Matthews. Atlanta jam band Janah traveled to the Home of Rock and Roll to master their new album as did Nashville producer Neil Martin, who brought two projects - an EP with radio singles from Thin King as well a funky record from Kat Maxwell. Heavy rockers The Nancy School sent their project to Brad for a final polishing, as did Florida's own Elohsa. Producer/engineer J.P. Sheganoski of Risus Productions sent down an EP by Beyond Mirth, and James Greenlee sent Brad three more tracks from Lucid Fuse. Once again, Alberto Ortiz, the stunning mixer from Costa Rica, sent Brad another great sounding project, Geovanny. Bethany World Prayer sent up another live record from the bayou, while Lindsay Smith sent her project in from Atlanta, courtesy of Lee Flier. Finally, Brad put the finishing touches on country-rocker Jim Wilson's new record, 'This Old House'.

September brought Jahn Hampson, lead singer of Nine Days, to Euphonic for the mastering of his amazing solo EP, '17 Minutes And 38 Seconds In The Dark'. The EP was tracked and mixed by the ever-impressive Dave McNair. Jody Abbott of Breaking Point also dropped in to master some new tracks for Wind-Up Records, the new album is going to rock. Brad also cut new radio singles for Skillet and Elisha's Request, while mastering full-lengths for One Way and Blair Combest. Kids musician Rebecca Frezza sent her new record in to Euphonic for a little polish as did Kenny Howes, a phenominal California musician. Producer/engineer Kevin Rose had Brad master the eclectic new record from Subversivo, and Brad also put the finishing touches on a new blues compilation from Southern Records, featuring Delta Moon, Chef Chris & His Nairobi Trio, Fiona Boyes, Bill "Watermelon Slim" Homans, and Little Toby Walker.
